Buyer Representation

Finding the Right Aircraft — Without the Guesswork

Buying an aircraft is one of the most significant purchases you’ll make as a pilot — and one of the easiest to get wrong without the right guidance. Whether you’re stepping into your first owned airplane or upgrading to a light twin, the single-engine and piston twin market is full of variables: overpriced listings, undisclosed squawks, inflated logbook claims, and sellers who know more about their aircraft than you do.

At BDK Aviation, I level that playing field. I work exclusively on your behalf as your buyer’s representative — finding the right aircraft, at the right price, with no surprises waiting on the other side of the pre-purchase inspection.

It all Starts with a conversation—and there’s no pressure to move forward until you’re ready.

What sets BDK Aviation apart:

What sets BDK Aviation apart is how I evaluate what you’re buying. Using AI-assisted logbook and maintenance history analysis, I dig into the records the way most buyers simply don’t have the time or experience to:

  • Identify red flags
  • Validate value-adding factors
  • Use analytical market modeling to give you a clear, honest picture of what an aircraft is actually worth before you make an offer.

Every aircraft has a story in its logs. My job is to make sure you understand it before you commit to it. Combined with a real-time read of the market, you negotiate from a position of knowledge, not hope.

Buyer Representation Process at BDK Aviation

Strategic Guidance from Search to Ownership

Step 1 — Defining the Right Aircraft

We start by talking through:

  • Clarify your mission, budget, experience level, and ownership plans
  • Identify the appropriate make, model, and specifications to match your real-world use
  • Explain operational, performance, and ownership tradeoffs between options
  • Ensure you move forward with clarity and confidence before reviewing listings

Step 2 — Market Intelligence & Offer Strategy

Listings can be misleading. I make sure we:

  • Monitor major aviation marketplaces including: Trade-A-Plane, Controller and Barnstormers
  • Leverage broker and private-seller networks, including off-market opportunities
  • Conduct AI-assisted logbook and maintenance record analysis before travel to:
    • Flag anomalies and confirm AD compliance
    • Validate major maintenance and overhaul history
    • Identify items affecting value or walk-away decisions
  • Establish fair market value based on condition, history, and current comparables
  • Structure a competitive offer strategy designed to protect your leverage

Step 3 — Inspection & Negotiation Oversight

Once we’ve identified the right aircraft, I manage:

  • Draft and present the Offer Letter / Letter of Intent (LOI)
  • Negotiate price, inspection contingencies, timelines, and terms
  • Coordinate pre-purchase inspection with qualified facilities
  • Establish fair inspection scope and manage the process on your behalf
  • Advocate for price adjustments or discrepancy resolutions based on findings

Step 4 — Closing & Transition to Ownership

The pre-buy inspection is one of the most important parts of the purchase. I will:

  • Manage preparation of all transaction documents
    • Purchase Agreement
    • Bill of Sale
    • Supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with established aviation title and escrow companies for FAA-compliant transfer
  • Oversee escrow, funds flow, and closing timeline
  • Coordinate delivery or ferry logistics
  • Facilitate transfer of records, subscriptions, and ownership materials

Hands-on Approach

Based in Northeast Florida, I work with buyers across the United States. I understand the realities of operating and maintaining aircraft in busy airspace and varied conditions.

When it’s helpful, I’m happy to be hands-on: coordinating with shops, traveling as needed, and staying closely involved rather than managing things from a distance.

A Pilot’s Perspective — Not a Sales Pitch

BDK Aviation is an independent, owner-operated aircraft brokerage led by a private pilot with over 15 years of flying experience.

I approach buyer representation the way I would want someone to represent me: with honesty, patience, and respect for how personal aircraft ownership decisions can be.

You’ll always deal directly with me, and you’ll always get straight answers.

Let’s Start With a Conversation

If you’re thinking about buying an airplane—or just want to talk through ideas—I’m always happy to connect.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You don’t need to be “ready.” Let’s just talk airplanes
